Big Valley Alberta's Zeke Thurston had a stellar ride in Saddle Bronc on Saturday night at the Calgary Stampede as Pool A heated up.

After getting a re-ride Thurston scored an 85.50 on Cloudy Skies to take the top spot on the day and move into 2nd place in the aggregate.

Millarville's Layton Green also held on for eight seconds and scored an 82.50 for fourth place on Day Two and now moves into 3rd place in the aggregate.

Riggin Smith from Texas is sitting in the number one spot in the aggregate.

It was a tough night for the Bull Riders though with Nick Tetz from Calgary the only rider to not get bucked off on the night. Tetz scored a solid 85.00 to take the day money and sits in the #1 spot in the aggregate too. Wyatt Gleeson (Sundre, AB) sits in 3rd after two days with Edgar Durazo (Mexico but trains in the High River area) in 5th and Ashton Sahli (Red Deer, AB) tied for 6th.

In Bareback, Leighton Berry (Texas) tied with Cole Franks (Texas) for first with scores of 87.50. Alberta locals Clint Laye (Cadogan) finished in 7th with Dantan Bertsch (Ponoka) sliding into 9th. Both Laye and Bertsch are sitting in 9th in the aggregate.

Albertans are looking good in Tie-Down Roping with Shane Smith (Wimborne) tied for 3rd in the aggregate with Nanton's Logan Bird just behind in 5th with Kyle Lucas (Carstairs) in 7th. Tuf Cooper (Texas) is in the top spot after two days.

The two Canadians in Steer Wrestling in Pool A are making their way through it. Stephen Culling (Fort St. John, B.C.) had a first-place finish with a 3.9 and sits in third in the aggregate. Provost's Scott Guenthner unfortunately had a time of 10.3 and moves into 4th in the aggregate.

And Ladies Barrel Racing was fast last night.

Ashley Castleberry (Texas) had a time of 17.340 for first place on the night with Taylor Manning (Yellowhead County, AB) came in 5th with a time of 17.720 with Bailey Smith (Marwayne, AB) in 7th with a 17.820.
