The 911 Carrares new 3-liter V8 has gone into production for the first time, and its a big step forward for Porsche, with the first 911 Carreras being powered by the new powertrain.
Porsche announced the engines at its Frankfurt press conference on Wednesday, confirming that the new 3 liter twin turbo four-cylinder engine from the company’s new Porsche 911 Carrer is the most powerful engine ever used in a 911 Carrumans successor.
According to Porsche, the engine’s rated power of 565 hp (335 kW) and 652 lb-ft (330 Nm) of torque will allow the 911 Carras’ new 911 S to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.9 seconds and 0-62 mph (0-124 km/hr) in 5.6 seconds.
The new 3 litre turbocharged engine has a maximum output of 1,000 hp (6,900 kW), and the engine is rated at an output of 3,000 rpm.
Paired with the new engine, the new Carrera model will be capable of a top speed of 200 km/hour (124 mph), and a top gear speed of 180 km/mph (160 mph).
The 911 Carrero also features a new air suspension system, a new front and rear axle layout, and a new wheelbase of 515 mm (31 inches) and 563 mm (29 inches) along with a longer wheelbase than its predecessor.
The new 3L turbocharged 3-cyliler engine has been the focus of much attention since its announcement back in November, and the Porsche team has made a number of changes to the car’s chassis.
The front axle has been shortened and the rear axle is longer.
The Porsche team said the longer axle length has helped to improve power transfer between the front and the back axle, and it has also made the front axle more efficient.
The engine’s performance is also expected to improve.
According to Porsche engineers, the powertrain’s performance has improved by over 20 percent compared to the previous generation of the 3.0-liter boxer engine.
The engine’s turbocharger now features more power output, with more torque at the rear of the engine.
Porsche has also incorporated a variable valve timing system into the engine, which can make it more efficient and predictable.
Powering the new car is a new 6.2-liter six-cylinders that can be mounted in either of the front or rear axles.
The engines powertrain features a dual-plate crankshaft with twin-scroll heads, which is capable of producing 500 hp (310 kW) at 6,000 RPM.
The torque of the twin-turbocharged 6.1-liter inline-six has been increased by approximately 70 percent, and Porsche claims that the engine has become more efficient over the past few years.
Pursuing the new Porsche Carrera is a Porsche 911 GT2 RS with a total power output of 551 hp (332 kW) with a peak torque of 5,900 Nm.
The 911 GT3 RS has a power output on the order of 575 hp (337 kW) when paired with a dual exhaust system.
The 991 Carrera RS has also been upgraded with an all-wheel drive system, and there is a 10-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The car is powered by a 5.5 liter V6 engine with 6.0 L turbochargers, and can reach a top torque of 360 Nm (1,500 lb-feet).
The new Porsche 991 Porsche Carrer will be available in four colors, red, yellow, black and silver.
It will be priced at $119,895.
