Fox Racing will be making the leap from the Formula One grid to the F1 grid for the first time since 2015 with the addition of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 car to its lineup.
Fox’s Mercedes-Benz AMG GT1 will be used for this year’s British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Fox is currently using the Mercedes AMG F1 car for its full season in Formula One, but plans to use the AMG V8 in the 2016 season.
The move to a V8 powered AMG car will help the team keep pace in the sport with Mercedes, and will give Fox an advantage in terms of engine performance and lap times compared to its rivals.
“Our focus has always been to keep the Mercedes in the championship, but in the future we have also had to be very aggressive with the powertrain,” said Fox Racing team principal Matt White.
“We will be using the V8 as we move from the grid to F1, and we are very pleased with the results we have been able to achieve with the Mercedes.”
The AMG powertrain is the second most powerful engine in Formula 1, with the Ferrari 458 Italia coming in second.
The Mercedes AMGs powerplant is based on the Mercedes SLS AMG chassis, and features an electric motor and twin-turbocharger, which is a key element in its performance.
The AMGs engine is also the same as that of the Ford GTE, although with a higher compression ratio.
The two engine combinations are used in the Mercedes, which will be the second car in Fox’s lineup to have the V6 and V8 engines, following the Ford F-Series.
White said that while the Mercedes and Ford F1 teams will be competing in the same class, it was important for Fox to make the move to F2.
“It is a bit of a different class to Formula 1 because we are on the grid and not racing, so we have to do a lot of testing to be competitive, but also we need to understand the differences between these engines, and understand how they work,” he said.
“As well, we are still trying to figure out how to build a package for the new F1 regulations. “
That is one of the things we are working on. “

Mercedes-F1’s team boss Toto Wolff said that the move was a great step for the sport. “
Ultimately we want to win the championship.”
Mercedes-F1’s team boss Toto Wolff said that the move was a great step for the sport.
“I think we can see a lot more of the F-series, we can have more racing,” he told Motorsport.com.
“What we can’t see now is the F2 championship.”
F1 is currently running a new set of regulations, which change the engine manufacturers from Mercedes to Ferrari.
Fox Racing has been using Mercedes engines for the last six years, and has raced the cars in both the Blancpain GT series and the F3 series.
“When we got the Mercedes it was a bit like getting an investment,” Wolff added.
I think it’s really important for us to build up this relationship.””
Mercedes is an incredible partner for us.
