BMW Motorsport has unveiled a new racing wheel in the wake of the recent crash involving former Formula One team owner Jenson Button, who died in a crash at the Nurburgring in Germany.
The wheel, which was revealed at the G29 Rally, features a new ‘Racing’ design which features a ‘R’ in the centre and ‘R’-shaped ‘wings’.
It also features a distinctive BMW logo on the front of the wheel and a ‘P’ logo on each side.
It features a 1.8-litre aluminium alloy wheel which weighs in at 1.1kg (2.2lb) and features a forged aluminium outer and an aluminium inner shell with a new aluminium hub.
The race wheel also has an aluminium rim and carbon fibre centrecaps with a carbon fibre inner hub and a carbon steel inner hub.BMW Motorsport has also confirmed that the new wheel is available in different colour schemes including a blue, black and red one.
The new G29 Racing wheels will be available in 2018.
